The November issue of Akita Shoten’s Monthly Shōnen Champion magazine announced that Keisuke Itagaki’s Baki manga franchise would have a new spinoff manga. Baki renaissance has been a wonderful surprise for the fans, and it has a hundred volumes And counting.
The Netflix debuted the Anime in 2018, and since then, the fan base for the series has become more expansive. As it was the English dubbed version, the Western world can also feel connected to the Anime and also because how the Netflix captures everything and provide the best version of it too there viewers. So because of all of this, the Anime gained a lot of popularity in the Western world also and season 3 is also on the way.
Before season 3 comes up, we’re getting an incredibly weird spin-off manga starring Retsu Kaioh.
In the new manga, Baki will face off against the strongest and oldest sumo, sumo God. It will feature Japanese legendary sumo wrestler Nomi no Sukune. The wrestler apparently had the first-ever sumo match against Taima no Kehaya in 23 B.C.
When will the manga launch?
The Manga will launch in the magazine next issue on November 6, 2020, and it will focus on the Kenpo-style master Retsu Kaioh reincarnating into a different world.
The Manga was launched in October 2008 in Weekly Shōnen Champion. On July 8, Akita Shoten will publish the manga’s sixth compiled book.
Itagaki’s original manga ran for around 42 volumes in Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine from 1991 to 1999. The Manga has 63 million copies in circulation. From 1999 to 2005, The Baki sequel ran for 31 volumes. From 2005 to 2012, After Baki, Itagaki published the 37-volume Hanma Baki in Weekly Shōnen Champion. This was the fourth Manga of the franchise. Media do release the Manga in English.
It will be illustrated by Eiji Murai as it used to be created by the creator Keisuke Itagaki himself but not this time. So we need to wait for few more days to see the spin-off and what it will bring to the fans. To know more about anime, stay tuned.
