Crunchyroll announces its collaboration with Adult Swim to produce Shenmue: Shenmue was the mega videogame released in 1999. Its life-like visuals and its subversive plot had its fans on the edge of their seats. It was originally released on Sega Dreamcast. An overseas sequel was released in 2001 and was later added to Xbox in 2002. More than a decade later, Shenmue 3 was launched which set a record for the most funded Kickstarter game in 2015. However, this sequel did not live up to its reputation.
Although the game was no longer innovative as compared to its contemporaries it still left a legacy of an engaging plot that included martial arts.
