Gang King Manga Will Be Ending in 37th Volume

Gang King is a Japanese manga series. It serialized in 2003. The authors are Daiju and Yanauchi. It serializes in Bessatsu Shounen Magazine.


Manga to end in 37th volume

Daiju Yanauchi’s Gang King manga’s 36th compiled book volume on Friday revealed the manga’s ending. The manga will be going to end in the 37th Volume. The 37th volume will be going to ship in 2021.


The Climax of the manga has started in the 32nd volume of the manga. And this compiled volume shipped in February 2019.

Yanauchi launched the manga in Shonengahosha’s Young King magazine in 2003. But later on, it has shifted to Kodansha’s Magazine which is a special magazine in 2016. And after some time in around March 2017, it got moved to Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shounen Magazine. The serialization of the manga is quite hiatus and it came through very many difficulties.

In December 2017 it again changed to Kodansha’s Evening magazine. And at that time its last spurt. And after the change, it publishes twice a week which is bi-weekly. And the manga appears once a month in the magazine. The manga has more than 10 million copies in print.

Plot of Manga

The plot of the manga revolves around a high school student Katsuya Jimmy Onishi. He is in the first year of high school currently and at the Barajuji Academy. When he was small, a tattoo artist known as the Victorious needle saved him. And Katsuya Jimmy chooses his path and aims to be the best tattoo artist in the world. His passion and determination for the tattoo artist is remarkable. And so would be his journey. His journey follows many ups and downs in the manga.

The manga has adapted for a live-action series of 12 episodes. It premiered in Japan on Amazon Prime Video in April 2017. Also, a live-action movie premiered in 2014.
