Kimi Wa Kanata Anime film to open in Japan on November 27

The Official website for Digital Network Animation just launched a teaser announcing the release date of its upcoming anime film Kimi Wa Kanata.


Coming in the theatres of Japan on the 27th of November ―Kimi Wa Kanata or You are Beyond is an adolescent fantasy film. It revolves around two childhood friends Mio and Arata as they suffer from a tragedy,

The video, narrated by Honoka Matsumoto reveals one of the settings of the film ― the deserted East Exit of Tokyo’s Ikebukuro Station.

It appears, from the trailer that this anime movie is sure to deliver on some breath-taking visuals and even some tears. It is set in the real world Tokyo but also includes some fantasied elements.

Kimi Wa Kanata: Plot described the film as:

Mio has feelings for her childhood friend Arata, but can’t convey her feelings. One day, as they continue their delicate relationship, the two fight over something trivial. After letting tensions settle, Mio goes to make up with him in the pouring rain. While on her way, she gets into a traffic accident. When she regains her consciousness, a mysterious and unfamiliar world appears before her eyes.

Kimi Wa Kanta: Cast and Crew

The film would star Honoka Matsumoto (Ride Your Wave’s Yoko Hinageshi) as Mio, and ToshikiSeto (Kamen Rider Ex- Aid’s Kamen Rider Brave) as Shin.

The film is the directorial debut of Yoshinobu Sen (Vampire Holmes’s lead voice actor). He also wrote the screenplay for the film and is credited with the original concept.

Digital Network Animation is producing the film and CUCURI is credited for planning and directing the film.

Kimi Wa Kanta: International Release Date

As for now, no release date has been declared for an international release.
