Mahouka Koukou No Rettousei’, or The irregular at magic high school is a Japanese web novel series. The series follows the storyline of two siblings, Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba who take admission in the first magic high school. This scientific-fiction novel has action and was released as a light novel nine years ago in 2011.



The series is published by Yen Press in English. Original work of Tsutomu Satō, the fantasy novel had its run on October 12, twelve years ago in 2008. The original novel had a good run till 2011, which is for three years.


In 2013 Madhouse announced that the novel series will be adapted into anime. With the second run airing on third October 2020 the whole Mahouka novel series will also come to its end. But, there is hope that the sequel of the series will release.

The second run of Mahouka Koukou No Rettousei was earlier delayed due to the ongoing pandemic situation. The anime series was scheduled to release in the month of July but got delayed to three months in October 2020. The fans of this magical anime series have been waiting for the second season for six years.

The irregular at magic high school

The first run of The irregular at magic high school aired in 2014 with twenty-six episodes. You can check the official website to know about the details. A film based on the anime was also released. It was produced by Studio 8bit. Taku Iwasaki, the music producer for the show also produced music for the film. He is coming back for the second run as well.


According to sources, we will hear the same voice artists. Tatsuya Shiba, one of the siblings and main characters of anime will be voiced by Yuichi Nakamura. Miyuki Shiba, the other sibling and main magician in the show will be voiced by Saori Hayami.
