TV anime adaptation of Aya Kanno’s Requiem of the Rose King is in the works

The official Twitter account for Aya Kanno’s Requiem of the Rose King manga announced that the series would have a television anime adaptation.

There is not much information revealed by the creators of the show except that the show will be available very soon. The manga dark fantasy story is based on William Shakespeare’s Richard III and Henry VI. The story centres around Richard III during the turbulent Wars of the Roses period or time in English history. Viz Media licensed the Requiem of the Rose King.

The manga has been running in Akita Shoten’s Princess magazine since 2013. Now a TV anime adaptation is in the works.  And volume 14 is just released in Japan.

Along with the 14th volume along with the promo announcement for the show. And with the information of the show, there was illustration related to the manga was also released.

The story for Requiem of the Rose King

Here is a short description of the show.

Richard, the ambitious 3rd son of the House of York, believes he is cursed, from the birth to eternal darkness. But is it really fate that sets him on the path to destruction? Or his own tormented eagerness? Based on an initial draft of Shakespeare’s Richard III, Aya Kanno’s dark fantasy finds the person who could be king standing between worlds, between good and evil between classes.

Richard’s father, the patriarch of the House of York, is hovered to become king of medieval times England during the bloody Wars of the Roses. But just as success is coming, he is unexpectedly cut down. Fell over into despair, Richard acts out in retaliation and must face a powerful new enemy.

So right now, there is no additional information given by the creators in producers of the show, but as the volume’s release today, we can accept more details regarding the release date and other information in upcoming days.
