Reportedly, Violet Evergarden of Kyoto Animation, the anime film remained at No.03 position consecutively in its weekend four in Japan. The film generated revenue of 73,879,300 yen i.e. about US$ 701,100 starring from Friday to Sunday and made sales over 890,000 tickets to own 1,283,803,400 yen i.e. about US$ 12.18 million.

The film premiered in Japan on 18th September, 2020 and got positioned at No.2 in the opening of weekend. Till 22 September, the film sold 390,000 tickets and earned 559 million and had a average each screen of 1.64 million yen i.e. about US$ 15,600.
The official website of Violet Evergarden : The movie made an announcement on 6th April, 2020 that Kyoto Animation pushed the film’s release in Japan due to the impact of coronavirus pandemic. The film was scheduled to release in Japan on 24 April 2020. The franchise’s different story anime, named as Violet Evergarden l : Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll premiered in theatres in Japan, September 2019 and it was screened for five consecutive weeks. The film released on Netflix on 2nd April.
The film is directed by Tokahiko Kyōgokul (land of the lustrous, love life! School idol project, GATE) and Ryō Takada penned the script of the film. The production houses are : Shinei Animation, TV Asahi, ADK, and Futabasha. The theme song ‘Giga Aishiteru’ of the film by musician Takafumi Ikeda, the solo unit is performed by Rekishi.
