The Harvey Awards, which honours excellent work in comics and sequential art, awards Kamome Shirahama’s Witch Hat Atelier manga with the Best Manga award at its awards ceremony, Friday.
The Manga was launch on monthly morning 2 in 2016. Kodansha published the seventh compiled volume on May 22. And in 2019, Kodansha Comics began releasing the series in English.

Story of witch hat atelier
The Manga story revolves around a girl named Koko. Who lives in a small village and always dream of becoming a wizard. But born without any magical aptitude, she has to give up on this dream and could never think about the magical spark. And could not hope to witness that magic’s spark. She gave up on her dream, but one day a magical Wizard, Kiefley came to her village. And then she can happen to see her performing magic.

In 2018 the manga was nominated for the 11th Manga Taisho awards.
In January 2019, it was nominated for the Best Comic award at Angoulême International Comics.
In the 2018 edition of Takarajimasha’s Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga Is Amazing!) guidebook The series ranked in the top 10 on the list of the best manga for male readers.
The manga also ranked on the Ten Great Graphic Novels for Teens list this year in American Library Association’s (ALA’s) Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA).
In 2018 it was nominated for best many in Harvey Awards. Unlike any other awards in the North America comic book industry, the Harvey Awards nominated and selected by the comic book professional themselves.
The Harvey award will do live stream this year, and all the events will be digital on Friday. This year’s awards will initiate the God of Manga Osamu Tezuka into its Hall of Fame.
