Chingari is an Indian social app developed by two programmers based in Bengaluru in 2019. It has recently crossed 1 lakh users.This application is known to the folks as a desi tik tok alternative. It is created on somewhat similar basis as tik tok but it has a little twist. It is designed to create videos, audio clips and other content specifically for the purpose of putting them up on WhatsApp statuses.
Chingari allows its users and content creators to download and upload videos and share content with other users. They can also meet and interact with new people, have a conversation with friends and also browse through their feed.
The app gives enough space to explore creativity by giving an opportunity to the users to users with their status on WhatsApp, audio clips, video clips, photos as well as GIF stickers. The Indian origin of the application supports several languages. Some of them being Hindi, English, Telugu, Tamil, Punjabi, Malayalam, Marathi, Kannada, Bangla and Gujarati.
In accordance to a PTI report, Chingari is of wholly Indian origin, is made according to the requirement of Indian users and is not a clone of any foreign app. The report also had a statement explaining the difference between Indian originated Chingari and the Chinese company bytedance owned TikTok. According to the same, user payment of Chingari is based on the the volume of viral content uploaded by the creator and that for every upload the user get some points per view which can be redeemed for money.
