Friday market highlights: The Sensex and Nifty continued their last day’s positivity and ended on a positive note for the last trading day of the week. The Friday session closed on a higher note mainly led by robust gains in financial stocks amid positive global cues. The Sensex stopped at, 41,892 points, with a gain of 553 points, higher than the previous trading day while Nifty stopped at 12,264 points with a gain of 143 points. During the last trading day (Thursday), the Sensex closed 724.02 points higher to trade at 41,340.16 points, while the Nifty gain of 211.80 points and finally closed at 12,120.30 points.

  • Talking on a weekly basis, Nifty is less than 200 points away from record high while the Sensex is less than 500 points away from the highest record.
  • The Indian Rupee closed higher during the session at 74.20 per dollar against the previous close of 74.38 per dollar.
