Friday market highlights: The Sensex and Nifty discontinued their last day’s negativity and the share market ended on a positive note for the 5th trading day of the week. Friday session was a mix of reds and greens as the market was trading lower in the morning session but closed in the green. Index heavyweights Reliance Industries, Bajaj Finance, and Eicher Motors stood among the top gainers of the Nifty50 index. The Sensex stopped at, 43,443 points, with a gain of 86 points while Nifty increased by 29 points to finally stand at 12,720 points. During the last trading day (Thursday), the Sensex closed 236 points lower to trade at 43,357 points, while the Nifty lost 58 points and finally closed at 12,691 points.

  • During Friday’s session, Sensex up down by 86 points to finally stand at 43,443 points.
  • Except for the media stocks and FMCG stocks all sectoral indices closed on a positive note.
  • On a weekly basis, the share market has posted gains in 9 out of the last 10 trading sessions.

  • During Friday’s session, the Midcap index moved up by 171 points to finally stand at 18,353 points.
  • During Friday’s session, the Nifty Bank moved up by 187 points to finally stand at 28,466 points.
  • Top Nifty losers – Tata Motors, L&T, HDFC, UPL, and HDFC Bank.
  • Top Nifty gainer – Eicher Motors
  • Among all other banking stocks, ICICI Bank moved the Nifty Bank up by 133 points while HDFC Bank dragged it by 75 points.
  • On Friday Gold prices in India traded higher on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) tracking a positive trend in the international spot prices.
