Thursday market highlights: The Sensex and Nifty discontinued their last day’s positivity and the market ended on a negative note for the 4th trading day of the week. Thursday session was mainly dragged by selling in banking and financial stocks. There was also a fall in heavyweights that dragged Nifty below the 12,700 level. The Sensex stopped at, 43,357 points, with a loss of 236 points, snapping 8 sessions of gains while Nifty stopped at 12,691 points with a loss of 58 points. During the last trading day (Wednesday), the Sensex closed 316 points higher to trade at 43,594 points, while the Nifty gain of 118 points and finally closed at 12,749  points.

  • Top Nifty losers – Top Nifty losers are financials. SBI and Kotak Mahindra Bank were among the top losers.
  • During Thursday’s session, Nifty bank moved down by 566 points to finally stand at 28,279 points.
  • During Thursday’s session, the Midcap index moved up by 108 points to finally stand at 18,183 points.
  • FACT moved up by 5 percent after the government announced subsidy for farmers.
  • Cochin Shipyard’s second-quarter consolidated net profit moved down by 48.4 percent to finally stand at Rs. 106.7.
  • PFC has reported a 46.1 percent YoY rise in its second-quarter net profit at Rs. 5,288.9 cores.
