Yogi Adityanath led Uttar Pradesh government has become a front-runner in the race to fight job crisis during corona virus pandemic situation. The UP govt has been given employment to around 51 lakh workers under MGNREGA and under the rural job guarantee scheme, the state government is to employ over of about 10 lakh more workers by next week, as PTI reported citing an official. The employment figures were being provided to UP CM Yogi Adityanatah in a high-level meeting to review the coronavirus situation in the state. UP govt is also laying unparalleled focus to give employment to women by linking them to the Rural Livelihood Mission as well.
Yogi Adityanath told that his “govt will prepare an action plan to give social and also economic security to workers, for that, skill mapping of laborers have already been done”. Further, to arrest crimes against the women and Dalits, the CM has asked officials to take prompt action. As Last month, UP CM Adityanath had told that the state govt will give social security and insurance to laborers and no state can take manpower from UP without the government’s permission. He had added that he “received a list of 11 lakh migrant workers and laborers from bodies such as India Industries Association and FICCI and they have assured to absorb a huge labor force into the industry”.
Whereas, as the center and state government, tweaked labor laws, that aim at increasing opportunities for the job seekers and businesses, different state governments have come up with the initiatives to protect the interest of workers. Although, Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh govt has been appeared to be the front-runner, compared to other states as well. The UP govt is also putting sincere efforts to bring the foreign investments in the state, that may further strengthen the state’s employment landscape as well. The UP govt has been proposed to provide various facilities to the giant corporations of the US, that including FedEx, UPS, Boston Scientific, Adobe, Lockheed Martin, Honeywell, and many others if they shift factories and also bases from China to the state of Uttar Pradesh very well.
