Hoping to revive its corona virus hardly hit economy, the UP govt said Sunday it’ll generate 90 lakh new jobs in existing MSME units and encourage entrepreneurs for setting up more small industries by offering the loans on easy terms. Ninety lakh people could get employment if one job is added to the workforce of each of the existing ninety lakh micro, small and medium enterprises in the state, according to the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Adityanath on Sunday asked officials to prepare a ‘detailed action plan’ for motivating the entrepreneurs to set up the new MSMEs units. Loan fairs will be organised by every district from May 12 to May 20, a government statement said”. It also said rules will be relaxed and ‘made transparent’for the new MSME unit owners. An official said banks have been told to give loans to the existing units so that they can also expand their workforce.
The UP government said it is working on plans for generating about 20 lakh jobs for migrants returning to home from other states because of the nationwide lockdown and shutdown imposed after the coronavirus pandemic.
The state Cabinet has also approved an ordinance putting on hold several labour laws for subsequent three years, hoping that this may help revive industry.
As Adityanath said – “It is my commitment that this sector in Uttar Pradesh will achieve its glory as before. Officials should motivate more entrepreneurs to line up units of micro, small and medium industries within the state. Prepare an in depth action plan as soon as possible for this. Despite the recession, this sector has contributed significantly to the growth of per capita income of the state in the last three years. We will further increase the per capita income through this,”.
