The 70-year-old lady from Maharashtra has become a YouTube sensation. Her YouTube channel Aapli Aaji meaning Our grandmother has over six lakh subscribers in just six months. The channel contains about 120 recipe videos by Suman Dhamne from Sarola Kasar village. The village is about 15 km away from Ahmedabad.
Suman Dhamne makes Maharashtrian dishes in traditional flavours. People are highly inspired by her culinary skills. Hence, her channel receives about 4000 subscribers and millions of views each day. Suman Dhamne says, “I did not know what YouTube was and never thought about putting recipes on social media. But now I feel uneasy if I do not share any recipe on the channel.”

The lady celebrates her YouTube creators award. The tech support was provided by her grandson Yash Pathak. Yash Pathak,17 studies in ninth standard. He revealed that sometime in January he asked his grandmother to cook pav bhaji for him. For that, she watched a couple of recipe videos but said that she could prepare a better one. And from there the boy got the idea to come up with a channel.
Nevertheless, it was not an easy task for Yash and his grandmother. Suman reveals that initially, she was very uncomfortable as she had not faced a video camera earlier in her life. In the initial days, she was very conscious and stammered. She scared while speaking in front of the camera. However, with time she became used to it and got familiar with the technicalities of social media. Also, she received a YouTube creators award.
