A Female -led reboot of ‘Doogie Howser’ ordered to series at Disney+


A comeback will be seen of Doogie Howser in a gender swap reboot. The series confirmation has been announced by Disney+. It will be going to release on Disney next year. Its working title is Doogie Kameloha, M.D.


Synopsis of Doogie Kamelot, M.D.

The story follows a 16 years old girl named Lahela Doogie Kameloha, budding her medical career as a teenager. Guiding Lahela is a member of her family and also her Irish mother. Her mother is also a supervisor in a hospital.


Melvin Mar and Jake Kasdan are going to execute the series. Jesse Bochco and Dayna are going to produce half-hour comedy series.

Doogie Kameloha M.D. is loved by everyone in the studio, so we knew that if we were going to reinvent it for a new generation, we had to have both the blessing and participation of the Bochcos and a creator with a fresh, new take that made us lean in,” Carolyn Cassidy, president, 20th Television said in a statement. Kourtney has a great vision for characters and it is very inspiring. We have been dying for collaboration with Jake and Melvin again. And for this Disney+ is the best idea for it. We couldn’t be more excited.

These days Doogie is one of the best American Intros for the beloved Neil Patrick harris. At the time of the premiere, the show was already a hit. The original show was released in September mid in 1989. There were 4 seasons that got aired on ABC.

Earlier the actors cast were Neil Patrik Harris as DR.DOUGLAS DOOGIE HOWSER, Max Casella as Vincent Vinnie, James B Sikking as Doogie’s father, Belinda Montgomery as Doogie’s mother, Lisa Dean Ryan as DOOgies’ highschool girlfriend.
