American Barbecue showdown: The display puts together some of the nation’s most outstanding competitive barbecue cookers and, based on the teaser, it looks like it’s expected to give your eyes a mouthwatering feast you can’t possibly eat. Hosts Rutledge Wood and Lyric Lewis challenge the contestants to explain their pitmaster titles through a series of cooking challenges that will be judged by Memphis BBQ company’s Bludso BBQ creator Kevin Bludso and Melissa Cookston.

What exactly the show is about?

The American Barbecue Showdown is an eight-episode food competition series that follows the country’s best smokers in the backyard and competitive barbecues as they compete for the American Barbecue Champion title. Hosted by Judges Kevin Bludso and Melissa Cookston, Rutledge Wood, and Lyric Lewis. Every week, Kevin and Melissa will challenge the cookers, testing their barbecue skills in ways they couldn’t possibly imagine. They’ll have to show they have the expertise to smoke another day, from special meats to old school techniques.

The new cooking competition will make its debut on September 18.

In other words, brace for plenty of shots of incredibly tender-looking glazed meat in pickle marinades, sugar, and rich sauces, and serve it with hearty sides as you watch the trailer above.
