It seems that President Joe Biden has joined in on the bandwagon calling for the resignation of Andrew Cuomo. Does it mean he’s resigning? All of these questions will be answered in the following article. But, firstly, let us try to ask what is the context behind this resignation?

Well, Andrew Cuomo is the governor of New York state and is a powerful person. A report was released by Attorney General Letitia James. This showed the findings of an investigative independent report. This investigation was ordered into the harassment allegations levelled by 11 women. The AG ended up commenting that the behaviour showed by the governor is contrary to both state and federal law.

The report said “The Governor sexually harassed a number of current and former New York State employees by, among other things, engaging in unwelcome and nonconsensual touching, as well as making numerous offensive comments of a suggestive and sexual nature that created a hostile work environment for women”.

Biden calls for resignation of Andrew Cuomo

It seems that this was enough for Joe Biden to call for the resignation of Cuomo. Earlier, he had clarified and said that if the allegations were found to be credible. He would ask Cuomo to leave office. “I’m sure there were some embraces that were totally innocent […]”. “Apparently the attorney general decided there were things that weren’t.”

The journalists had also asked whether he was asking for Cuomo to resign. Some people had also asked him if the Governor should be impeached. This is in case he does not want to resign.

It seems Cuomo still denies the allegations and is calling out it was nothing but innocent hugs. A hefty reply and several videos have been released by him. This is of politicians hugging people. Therefore, it seems that he does not wish to resign.
