Baldur’s Gate 3 – Here, take a glance at the announcement trailer, which arrives just one year after the game was officially announced and some months after the Reveal of the World Gameplay at PAX which took place earlier this year.
When the Guerrilla Collective Livestream was going on 13th of June, a new trailer for Baldur’s Gate 3 was announced which said that the new RPG is arriving for Early Access in the month of August.

Swen Vinvke the CEO of Larian explained that the studio is working efficiently for achieving the goal, but they are facing a lot of development challenges because of the pandemic of COVID-19 which might delay their plans. “We’ve been hit like everybody else in the world,” said the CEO. “Nonetheless, we managed to make a lot of progress, so we think we’re going to make it,” he further explained.
The CEO pointed towards the performance capture as one potential block of their road between them and the Early Access release. He also pointed out several numbers of changes that were made in the game since its last been seen, consisting of the graphical improvement, combat tweaks and changes to the narrator.
However, we can expect to see more about Bladur’s Gate 3 soon, with an interactive livestream which was held on 18th June on twitch.tv/dnd.
“Get ready to venture forth. Baldur’s Gate 3 is planned for an August 2020 Early Access launch on Steam and Stadia,” the studio confirmed.
Which Dungeons and Dragons edition will Baldur’s Gate3 be based on?
The game Baldur’s Gate 3 is expected to be based on the interpretation of Larian of the 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons ruleset. Swen Vincke, the CEO further explained that there are some rules and systems that do not translate well directly from the top of the table to the game. The studio has therefore worked in order to build an interpretation of the 5th Edition rules which works well as a video game but also feels true to D&D.
Will Baldur’s Gate 3 have support for the cross platform gaming?
The studio has not spoken about the cross-saves for Baldur’s Gate 3 till now.
