Black Panther 2: Who Will Take Chadwick Boseman’s Place? Tap to Know

Black Panther 2: On 28 August 2020, the whole world erupted in cries together as the king who ruled over their hearts- their T’Challa- left them forever. He was 43. Chadwick Boseman was diagnosed with Stage III Colon Cancer back in 2016 and the fact was not publicized widely. Black Panther was one of the coolest and most underrated Avengers of all time, according to me. Let’s take a look at the future of the Black Panther franchise.

What Will Happen to Black Panther 2?

The sequel had a tentative release date of 6 May 2022 as a link to Marvel’s Phase Four. Since Boseman was expected to take over and reprise his role as Wakanda’s king, the production had not yet begun. But, since the first movie was a shattering success at the box-office, cancellation is highly unlikely.

The Role of T’Challa to be Recast?

After the unfortunate and untimely demise of Boseman, fans from all around the world are signing petitions and expressing that the makers should refrain from recasting the role and preserving the legacy of Black Panther as a way of paying respect to the actor.

But somebody has to take his place, right?

Many fans have come up with the idea that the scriptwriters should simply write his character off the story and have Shuri, T’Challa’s mastermind sister, take over the throne to become the next Black Panther. This way, it satisfies all fans alike- including black people and feminists. Even in Marvel comics, she eventually rises to occupy the power, hence it is only natural for her to become Queen.

Black Panther 2 – A rumor from a few months ago stated that Marvel was going to replace Chadwick Boseman with Letitia Wright, the actor who plays Shuri. As it turns out, they were clearly preparing themselves for the worst-case scenario beforehand. But the fans didn’t take it seriously because nobody knew about Boseman’s illness. Shuri will most probably be the next BP, but that’s just speculation.

You did not lose the battle to your illness, King. You simply left for another destination, for this world was not worthy enough of a talent like yours. You have left an indelible mark on our hearts. Wakanda Forever.
