Like most other enormous in-person social occasions in 2020, Blizzard Entertainment decided to drop its yearly BlizzCon occasion prior this year due to COVID-19. The organization intends to go virtual next year. This means that all the fans will get to enjoy the event online. They are going to be selling virtual tickets for the same.
This is a piece of great news for all the individuals who have not been able to attend the even previously. This opens up the possibility of a larger audience for BlizzCon. More gaming fans can engage with the event. And the best part about it is that they can do so in the comfort of their homes.
President of Blizzard speaks out
J. Allen Brack, who is the president of the organization responsible for holding Blizzcon made a statement. The virtual event will be doing what Allen called “channeling the spirit of BlizzCon” in absentia of a physical show. It seems like next year’s BlizzCon will be having some new features. It will be more engaging and interactive. “We’re looking forward to sharing what the teams have been working on for that event,” Brack elaborated.
He also stated that the virtual event will be taking part in the early part of 2021. There are no concrete plans as of now. But, we have a confirmation that is is definitely going to take place. The organization is developing the event to make it better than ever. Saralyn Smith, the executive producer of BlizzCon implied the possibility of the event going online. More details are yet to come out. One thing is certain, the event next year will make up for the event that is canceled this year.
The event usually takes place in the fall each year. But this year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the event will not take place.
