The couple has been married for three years and also has a daughter. But the union proved rocky as the couple had a well-publicised rough patch in 2018. Cardi B even posted about the same on her Instagram post in December 2018 where she has some 75.5 million scores. She mentioned to Vogue magazine that the hitch was caused due to her husband’s infidelity. But, they reunited after Offset infamously pleaded to her on the sets of the Rolling Loud music festival to take him back.
Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar or Cardi B filed for divorce papers on Tuesday in the family court in Fulton County, Georgia, according to court records. A hearing in the case is scheduled for November 4.
The Custody of their Daughter Kulture
According to the petition filed by the 27-year-old rapper, she wants legal and primary physical custody of the couple’s two-year-old daughter, Kulture. She was also reported to ask for Offset whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, to pay for both child support and all of her legal fees from the divorce.
Cardi B is also asking for an equitable division of their marital assets between the two.
Though the couple has faced setbacks like this in the past, it looks like there is no possibility for a reunion anymore. E! Cable channel reported that Cardi B and her legal team called the couple’s marriage to be irretrievably broken and that there are no prospects for reconciliation.
According to People’s magazine Cardi B reportedly found out the Migos rapper had been unfaithful. She had also previously, during 2018 the spilt had said that for her monogamy is the only way.
Her recent album WAP is currently at the number one position of this week on the Billboard top 100 list. The YouTube video of the song has been viewed over 190 million times. The song was also part of controversy this year.
