Anna Faris

CBS’s ‘Mom’ star Anna Faris has quit the show After a successful seven-season run, star Anna Faris has moved out of the show ‘Mom’. The cast and crew now have to chalk out season eight, without the most important character of the show. This is sad news for the fans who had known the hit comedy show for her marvelous acting.

What did she have to say about quitting the show?

After a glorious run, Anna Faris in her statement said – “The past seven years on Mom have been some of the most fulfilling and rewarding of my career.” She added to that by saying – “I’m so thankful to Chuck, the writer, and my amazing castmates. While my journey as Christy has come to an end, allowing me to pursue new opportunities, I’ll be watching next season and rooting for my TV family.”

Meanwhile, CBS, WBTV, and Chuck Lorre Productions were proud in making the following statement – “We are so proud of the stories we have been able to tell during Anna’s seven years with us.” Everyone wished her the best of luck for her future.

The news of Anna leaving the show was known in the circles during the Hollywood pandemic hiatus. Also, this change was somewhat significant as Faris had renewed a 2-year contract in the spring last year in order to continue starring in the show.

Mom is an American sitcom that has portrayed issues such as estranged relationships, addiction, and sobriety. This was Anna’s first full-time TV series role, playing the single mom of two, along with Alison Janney.

Anna Faris’s announcement came at a time when the show’s cast and crew were all set to resume the production on September 14, in Los Angeles. So with this latest development, the show will continue without Faris’s character Christy for season 8 and won’t be recasting her role.
