Dennis Thomas: A great career

The 1971 hit Who’s Gonna take the Weight featured Dennis Thomas. His death comes as another shocker as Ronald “Khalis” Bell who was another member of the group died in September, 2020.

Many people do not know this but the group had started in the 1970s. This is when a group of friends had decided to start this group. They had a quick rise to fame as several of their songs made it quite big. In those times, their songs were featured on the radio. Some of these notable songs are Jungle Boogie and Hollywood Swingers.

Sometime after these hits, it was seen that they were on the downturn. But, then they resurged and released their song Celebration. This song was a chartbuster and it brought them back to the mainstream.

Kool & The Gang was so huge that they have earned about two Grammy Awards and seven American Music Awards. They have had 31 gold and platinum albums. Their music had formed pop culture during those times. They have featured in movies such as Rocky, Saturday Night Fever and Pulp Fiction.
