Disney Plus will lose very popular movies to Netflix soon

The war between two online streaming platforms, Netflix and Disney Plus Hotstar is on.

Disney has launched recently but had proved to be one of the best online streaming platforms. A large number of movies, documentaries, and series are already streaming on Disney+, and bit by bit the executive producers are constantly adding stuff to its library. Up till now, movies of Marvel, Lucasfilm, and Pixar are streaming and the subscribers have full access over these movies.

Will Disney lose access to many movies in the coming years?

It is anticipated that in the coming six years Disney will be losing control over many of its movies to Netflix. The licensing policy of Disney is such that will be the reason for losing movies. Disney has already allowed its content to float on other online platforms. Because of these policies within six years, Disney will lose a large number of its original content. Disney and Netflix even has a history of sharing their content.

The bond between Netflix and Disney:

Disney was always being popular among the TV channels but in 2012 it started to sell its content. Disney previously made a deal with Netflix to sell around $300 million of the content to Netflix. The bond between the two platforms strengthened with time. But later on, Disney came up with its own online platform. Not only, Netflix but Hulu and Amazon Prime Video are also competitors of Disney Plus Hotstar.

What movie will be excluded from Disney?

The library of Disney is filled with n number of movies but within six years it will lose some movies including Avengers: Endgame, Tarzan, and Maleficent. Many of the movies have already left the platform and they are:

Flicka
Dr. Doolittle
White Wilderness
Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties
The Shaggy Dog
Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers

The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration

Apart from them, Black Panther will also shift it’s a platform from Disney Plus to Netflix. By 2026 we can expect Black Panther to be on Netflix.
