Reportedly, Donald Sutherland and Eme Ikwuakor are connecting with Halle Berry, Patrick Wilson, Stanley Tuui, John Bradley and Charlie Plummer in science fiction epic film, Moonfall by Roland Emmerich. The principal photography of the film began in Montreal.

The film has a overall of $136 million budget, following a suspicious force knock the Moon from its orbit around the earth, which sends it throwing on a collision course with life. Only weeks prior the impact, a ragtag group launches a last ditch mission into the space and they land up on the lunar surface area to save the planet Earth from annihilation.

Donald Surtherland is playing the role of gatekeeper of NASA and it’s confidential archives and he is confused whether to reveal the truth to the world  about the happenings of Apollo moon landings in the initial 70s. While, Eme Ikwuakor is set to play the role of highly ranked military officer.

Huayi Brothers are the main producers of this ambitious project, along with Karl Spoerri and Viviana Vezzani in their newly launched company SPG3 Entertainment. They will be producing the expenses of COVID-19 safety regulations.

It is also known that production was secured insurance, with $136 million in the mid of a pandemic, which is highly commendable.

The other executive producers are : Dennis Wang, James Wang, J.P. Pettinato, Marco Shepherd, Ute Emmerich, Carsten Lorenz, and Stuart Ford.

The rights were obtained by Lionsgate in North America in 2019, post a high sales release at Cannes 2019. Centropolis, AGC, and CAA auctioned the project throughout the world. It is planned to have theatrical release in the year 2022.
