The Haunting of Bly Manor: A Sequel

The Haunting of Bly Manor is somewhat a sequel to the series― The Haunting of Hill House.

Directed by Flannigan, The Haunting of Hill is a popular gothic series that was received well by the audience and critics alike. It has a high score of 8.7 on IMDb.

For those of you who haven’t watch the series; it follows the lives of four children who are forced to move back to their childhood home, where they had witnessed the suicide of their youngest sister. Now the children must confront the ghost of their past, whether real or imagined.

The series is loosely based on Shirley Jackson’s iconic novel of the same name.

The season 1 brought an end to the story of the Craig family. Thus, The Haunting of Bly Manor would follow on the story of a new family, based on a different author’s book. So, even if you haven’t seen The Haunting of Hill, you can watch The Haunting of Bly manor.

The Haunting of Bly Manor: Plot

This time the director Flannigan would bring Henry James’ novella The Turn of The Screw to a live adaptation.

The plot revolves around a governess who is sent to Essex County to look after two orphaned children. Soon she suspects spirits roaming in the house; which also seems to be close to the kids.

It is not the first time that a video adaptation of the book, The Turn of the Screw has been made. There are many movie versions of the story. Most noteworthy among them is the 1961 British movie― The Innocents.

“For Henry James fans, it’s going to be pretty wild, and for people who aren’t familiar with his work, it’s going to be unbelievably scary,” said Flanagan.
