When I was young the only thing that scared me was that what if I spoke a lie and my nose grows like Pinocchio. How will I face people then? Since childhood Pinocchio has been one of those characters which has had our hearts. After showing interest in to for years together now Guillermo Del Torro is all set to bring out long nose short character back on screens but the only difference being that the setup is different and the circumstances are also different.
The movie has been in talks since 2008 and since then has Del Torro has been interested. , he’s designing this new take on Pinocchio as a much more twisted and nightmare-inducing version of the fairy tale – one that frankly was still kind of disturbing, even after it was “Disney-fied” into a traditionally-animated musical back in 1940. But the movie only can been struggling since then. Sometimes due to technical reason sometimes due to the dates and the excuses go on and on. After all the troubles that it has gone through we can now hope to see the movie latest by next year. Netflix has finally decided to feature the movie, mostly by next year.
Even though Netflix has taken a stand now we can see a further delay due to the worse world scenario due to the COVID-19 all the productions has halted.
There have always been talks about the voiceovers of the roles in the movie but nothing was made official ever. The expected voiceovers are Ewan McGregor as the voice for Pinocchio. Alongside him will be Christoph Waltz, Ron Perlman playing Mangiafuoco, Tilda Swinton, and David Bradley as Geppetto.
Not much has been revealed by the creators side upon the twist in the Pinocchio’s tale . The only thinning that we are aware is that the movie is to set in some part of Italy and that to during the rule of the fascist rule Mussolini.
After which we all can assume as that the movie is going to be black, intense and power vesting which also seems to be the highlight of the movie. As far as we’ve been told the movie is going to be a musical drama.
