The current heartthrob Harry Styles is returning to the big screen after been cast in Olivia Wilde’s upcoming film ‘Don’t Worry, Darling’. Harry Styles was earlier part of the popular boy band One Direction, but after the band’s infamous divide in 2016, he has gone solo and delivered some top of the chart tunes. His song Watermelon sugar has received over 110 million views on YouTube.
He is replacing Shia Labeouf who had to leave the film due to some scheduling issues on prior commitments. Fans have shown excitement to see Harry Styles return to movies after his debut role of Alex in Christopher Nolan’s 2017 film Dunkirk.
Actor turned director Olivia Wilde’s film has already a cast of prominent attractive actors like Fifty Shades star Dakota Johnson, Chris Pine, and Florence Pugh. Harry styles to star opposite Florence. Wilde herself will appear in the movie in a supporting role. Her debut film as a director ‘Booksmart’ received great support from the critics. It is the reason that fans are waiting for her new project.
Don’t Worry, Darling Plot
The film is described as a psychological thriller set in the isolated, utopian neighborhood in the 1950 California desert. The plot revolves around an unhappy housewife played by Florence Pugh who witnesses some strange happenings and began to question her sanity. Her husband is played by Styles who is hiding something. While Chris Pine portrays the role of a mysterious cult leader and Dakota Johnson plays Florence’s neighbor.
Olivia Wilde will be working with Katie Silberman as the former wrote the screenplay based on a spec written by Shane and Carey Van Dyke. She has also worked with her in Booksmart.
The film got picked up by New Line Cinemas with Wilde and Silberman also attached as producers with Vertigo. Entertainment’s Roy Lee and Miri Yoon. The Executive producer of the film is Catherine Hardwicke.
In addition to Don’t Worry Darling, Wilde is working on other projects. She has confirmed she is working with Sony to develop a superhero universe with a leading female character.
