What does Hugo Weaving have to say about this?
Hugo Weaving has further shared details on missing out on the long-awaited sequel. He said that initially, he was hesitant to accept to offer to play Agent Smith when he had got the call from Lana Wachowski. But after reading the script, he was impressed and wanted to be featured in the film. But due to his prior commitments to the stage play titled ‘The Visit’ in London, and also due to their overlapping schedules, Weaving was not able to do The Matrix 4.
Weaving in a statement said – “Lana was very keen for me to be a part of that. I really wanted to ’cause I’m very, very fond of all of them.” He also said that they were working out dates and things so that he could be a part of both. However that couldn’t happen, to which he said – ” Lana decided that she didn’t wanna change her dates, so I couldn’t do it. In a nutshell, that’s what happened.”
