Reportedly, Netflix has found its leading character young Colin Kaepernick for Netflix’s Colin In Black And White series has cast the alum of The Get Down, Jaden Michael to portray the role of talented quarterback in his former high school days.

The news circulated after Kaepernick had an announcement as to team up with Ava DuVernay on the series, consisting six episodes. The show will revolve around Colin Kaepernick’s initial life as a black child growing up with a white family,(adopted) and how he embarks a journey becoming a great quarterback while also defining his image. Series will also shed light on what influenced him to become a advocate of civil rights.


Micheal Starrburry who earlier worked with Ava DuVernay on her anticipated series,  ‘When They See Us’ is scripting the series. He is also executive producing along with Ava DuVernay and Colin Kaepernick, is going to narrate and feature in the series as himself. Till date, Colin Kaepernick has played six seasons in the NFL for San Francisco.

He has set numerous records and also received multiple accolades. He received attention from the whole world, when he kneeled down during the national anthem prior games to protest against police brutality and racism in United States. He also filed a complaint against the national football league and claimed they were working against him so that he couldn’t play in the National Football League.

Along with The Get Down, Michael’s credits includes Todd Haynes drama, Wonderstruck. He also portrayed leading role in Lorne Michael’s satire Vampires Vs The Bronx.
