Joey Jordison Dead: The Slipknot drummer

Slipknot is one of the most influential bands of all time. It seems that the former drummer Joey Jordison has passed away at the age of 46. Before we go on to talk about this great musician, we want to reproduce the statement that was given by his family on his death.


“We are heartbroken to share the news that Joey Jordison, prolific drummer, musician and artist passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 26th, 2021. He was 46”. It further read as – “To those that knew Joey, understood his quick wit, his gentle personality, giant heart and his love for all things family and music. The family of Joey have asked that friends, fans and media understandably respect our need for privacy and peace at this incredibly difficult time. The family will hold a private funeral service and asks the media and public to respect their wishes.” This was the statement that was given by his family upon his death.


Joey Jordison: Co-founder of the band

Jordison was born in a place called Des Moines, Iowa. It is here that he would go on to form the band Slipknot will Paul Gray and Shawn Crahan. Crahan who was also known as the Clown. Now, the band earned immense popularity in the 90s. It rose to fame as one of the best nu metal bands around.

As a member of the band, Joey had also received about 7 Grammy nominations. They also ended up winning Best Metal Performance in the year 2006. It was for their song “Before I forget”.

The exit of Joey Jordison happened in the year 2013 when he left the band. But, he did not offer an explanation as to why he was leaving the band. It was said that he was asked to leave or was fired.

His cause of the death has not been received as of now.
