Mindhunter Season 3 – The 2017 Netflix series, Mindhunter is an American psychological thriller web series created by Joe Penhall. It is an adaptation of the true–crime book ‘Mindhunter : Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit’ written by John E. Douglas and Mark Olshaker. Two seasons have been released with ten episodes in Season 1 and nine episodes in Season 2. Now the fans of this psycho-thriller await for the release of Season 3.


As the series is based on true life incidents, it portrays life of two FBI agents and a Psychologist who research and study cases of serial killings. They interview the imprisoned serial killers to understand their mindsets. They do all this in a hope to solve the ongoing cases in the States. Season 1 that was released on 13 October 2017, had a role of notorious serial killer Edmund Kemper (played by Cameron Britton) who help understand the psychology of a serial killer. The second season was released on August 20, 2019 and based on the real case of Wayne Williams and Atlanta killings.


The series have got mixed reviews so far. It has obtained 97% on rotten tomatoes, 8.6/10 rating on IMDb and 8.7/10 on TV.com.

After the two seasons, the cast of the series was busy with other projects and the series was put on hold. In January 2020 Netflix gave a hint that the cast has been released from their other contracts and would be working  forSeason 3 of the series. The fans are hopeful but the official release has not been declared yet.

The audience must witness the amazing work put up by the lead cast in Season 3 as well. The two FBI agents and the psychologist would be played by Jonathan Groff as Holden Ford, Holt Mcclany as Bill Tench and Anna Torv as Wendy Carr respectively. Co-stars would include Cotter Smith as Robert Shepard and Cameron Britton as Ed Kemper. 

Mindhunter Season 3 Plot

The Season 2 ended with the Atlanta Serial Killer being set free because of the lack of evidences against him. Season 3 could probably shed more light on the Atlanta Killings and join the loops that were missing in the second season. The fans hope for more mystery and psycho drama to be uncovered in the next season.
