Mindhunter season 3: Mindhunter is an American psychological thriller web television series created by Joe Penhall. It is based on the true-crime book Mindhunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit written by John E. Douglas and Mark Olshaker. This show is about the life of two FBI agents who are on the mission to interview criminals who are serving their sentences in order to understand their motives before committing a crime and try to use that knowledge in their future cases.
It premiered on October 14, 2017, and the second season released on August 16, 2019, on Netflix. Season 2 left viewers wanting more and that’s the sign of a great show. But in 2020, Netflix announced that the third season is on indefinite hold.
Why is Mindhunter season 3 at a halt?
Back in November 2019, it was reported that the third season had been put on indefinite hold because Fincher was working on his next film, Mank. As Fincher was busy with other projects, he had released the cast members from their contract. Regarding this, a spokesperson from Netflix clarified that Fincher didn’t want to hold the actors from seeking some other work.
When we can see Mindhunter season 3?
We don’t have much idea about when the third season will come, and what it will bring with it. We can’t say anything about it for as long as the coronavirus pandemic continues to consume the world. Season two’s cinematographer Erik Messerschmidt said that he has no idea about the third season but he is hoping for it. Given the busy schedule of Fincher with his upcoming movies and series Mank, love, death, and robots, it seems like season three will take longer to come as expected. Fincher had mapped out five seasons for the series, so it will definitely release someday.
