WARNING – For those who haven’t watched the season yet, there may be some spoilers ahead!!
The second season was again a hit drama on Netflix. It moved along two parallel stories. We saw ambitious Miguel Angel Felix Gallardo played by Diego Luna as he unites various cartels, and it followed the DEA, led by Scoot McNairy’s Walt Breslin, as they aim to avenge the death of Kiki Camarena, played by Michael Pena.
The season does end with a bang, but there is no grand heroic shootout, car blast, or gunshot stunts. It ends. The first major moment of the Narcos: Mexico finale came when a raid on a warehouse in the city led the US government to seize 21.4 tons of cocaine and $10 million in cash. This was the largest confiscation of drugs in the world’s history and had a major impact on what followed.
In the final episode that is titled – Free Trade, Gallardo then meets with Pacho Herrera (Alberto Ammann) to find out how he has survived the bust. The tense meeting ends with Herrera asking for money upfront or he tells him he will have to go through Canada instead. This sends Gallardo back to the federation with a tough conversation that happens later in the finale.
