The coming update which will arrive on 9th June, for Need for Speed Heat will enable crossplay. After this, Need for Speed will become the first title from EA with cross-platform multiplayer. EA announced this in a blog update. This new crossplay feature will allow the users to play with their friends on PC via Origin and Steam, PS4 and Xbox One.
After you are done with installing the update of the game, a prompt will appear with an option that will turn on crossplay according to the patch notes for the update. If you want to choose not to opt in, then you can do it later in the game’s privacy settings.
Need for Speed Heat is arriving to the EA Access and Origin Access game subscription services on 16th June. EA also revealed and also the studio teasers say “Need for Speed and Steam announcements” during the upcoming EA Play Live event which will be taking place on 18th June. Along with Need for Speed and many other games, EA knocked the door of Steam last week, which means that you will no longer need to use the company’s Origin launcher if you wish to play those games on PC.
However, the franchise, EA hasn’t revealed much more about the future of Need for Speed games, but they will be developed by Burnout creator Criterion Games.
