Netflix Picks Up ‘Beyond the Boundary’ Women’s T20 World Cup Documentary

Netflix has been releasing too many documentaries lately. Undoubtedly, all these have been a success for the network. “Beyond The Boundary” is one such documentary that marks the 17 –day tournament, where new heroes emerged in the women’s game as more cricket fans than ever.

RELEASE DATE

 The documentary would release on 14th August 2020 and shares the journey of some top players in the women’s cricket event which turned to be the biggest event for women in history.

This documentary is a chance for all the cricket enthusiasts to relive the moments from the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020, as the documentary debuts worldwide.

ABOUT THE DOCUMENTARY

With a lot of the production taken from the actual footage of the sports series, this would be the first piece of ICC original content to be streamed on a platform like Netflix. It depicts the rage, sportsmanship, exclusive game moments, and emotion of every player and their preparation for such an event. It has also added some aspects of commentary, spectators, behind the scenes, practice room sessions, stadium managers, and much more, seeing the crowd celebrate victory itself is an impactful scene.

Subtitles for the film are available in several languages including English, Thai, French, Japanese, Malay, Indonesian, Korean, Dutch, and Hindi

The documentary is a part of the 100% Cricket project.  It was launched by the International Cricket Council (ICC) even before the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup final, played on International Women’s Day. The event turned out to be a jackpot for the commercial success of the administrators and managers of the event.

ABOUT THE 100% CRICKET PROJECT

The project, 100% Cricket is set with an aim to change the already existing stereotypes and to bring a revolution, building on the success of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 and leading into the next mega-event – ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022 in New Zealand. The campaign aims to increase the engagement of women’s cricket in the international sports platform and positioning it as a commercial platform to reinforce ICC’s position at the forefront of the global women’s sports movement.
