No Game No Life is a Japanese light novel series by Yū Kamiya. It is directed by Atsuko Ishizuka and written by Jukki Hanada. Its first season consists of 12 episodes, released between April 9, 2014, and June 25, 2014. Soon after the release of the first season, it was an instant hit.
This light novel has 10 volumes out of which the first three volumes are covered by season one. It is one of the most popular and loved series and gained so much admiration from the audience, so why is there no season 2 so far?

Why is No Game No Life season 2 taking so long to release?

Earlier fans were anticipating the reason behind this delay can be the lack of source material. But as we mentioned above that 10 volumes of novel were published and season one was based on the first three volumes. So lack of source material should certainly not be a reason as they still have volumes left to be turned into Anime.

There were rumours that creators are not working on season 2 due to the allegations on the writer of the novel. But those allegations were completely false.
Anime studios are busy these days, including Madhouse Studio. We don’t know the exact reason but this can be the reason behind the delay.

There is no official announcement about the release of No Game No Life season 2. But we can expect it to come out in 2021 or 2022.

It revolves around Sora and Shiro. They are step-siblings, who are undefeated players of the gaming world. They are called as Blank.
One day Tet, God of the gaming world invites them to live in an alternative reality and challenge them to play chess and they end up emerging victorious. Now, their goal is to conquer all 16 species in order to challenge Tet to a game.
