Pirates Of The Caribbean 6: It is one of Disney’s greatest treasures. Before it bought Pixar, Lucasfilms, and Marvel Productions; Pirates of the Caribbean was its biggest live-action series ever.
The saga began with ‘The Curse of The Black Pearl’ which was greatly received by the audience. It broke all records. It won four Oscar nominations including best actor for Johnny Deep.
In the beginning, the franchise sailed smoothly but the later parts seemed rocky and forced. The later films were criticized by the critics. They believed that Disney was unable to recreate the magic, charm, and wit of the first movie.
Despite these reviews, Disney has decided to take forward the franchise with part 6.
Though the critics’ reviews might have gone sour, the series has performed well in the box office. The world and the setting created by the first film have hooked the audience to the end.
But it looks like the upcoming sequence is more mysterious than the heart of David Jones. As the franchise is still popular among the dedicated fans of the series many rumors and conjectures have flooded over the internet regarding the possible cast and the story arc.
Will Johnny Depp return as Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean 6?
Yes, it looks like even the star of the series, Jack Sparrow might not return in the sequel. Jerry Bruckheimer, the executive producer told Collider in May 2020, “The (script) we’re developing right now, we’re not sure quite what Johnny’s role is going to be. So, we’re going to have to see.”
The upcoming sequel/sequels is/are reported to start fresh and bring on a diverse cast of actors. Although Johnny Depp is not completely ruled out from the series, fans are disappointed with the news that the Pirates of the Caribbean series would no longer continue with Jack Sparrow as its pivotal character.
An online petition is started by fans to bring Johnny Depp back to the series. The comments on the petition followed along the same lines of― “there is no Pirates of the Caribbean without Jack Sparrow”.
Pirates Of the Caribbean Sequels
It was reported by Screenrant that two sequels of the Pirates of the Caribbean are in the workings. The first one is being written by Craig Mazin (Chernobyl) and Ted Eliot (original writer of the series) that may or may not include an appearance by Johnny Depp.
While the second edition would take a whole new take on the series. Located in the world of Pirates of the Caribbean, it would star Margot Robbie and would be written by Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey).
As the scripts are still in the making and there has been no confirmation made by Disney it is really hard to know the release dates and the casting decisions.
