Rapper Silento has been charged after he allegedly attacked two strangers with a small ax.
Silento is the stage name of Richard Lamar. He is a 22-year-old rapper best known for his debut single ‘Watch Me Whip/Nae Nae’ which held number three position on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 2016.
The rapper was put up behind the bars on Thursday for allegedly attacking two people with a hatched.
According to prosecutors, Silento was alleged for breaking an entry in an unlocked stranger’s house in Valley Village near Los Angeles. He swung a small ax at the two people before one of them disarmed him.
The rapper was also taken to custody earlier this week after a domestic disturbance was reported against him in Santa Ana. He was booked and then released on a charge of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or a cohabitant.
Only the next day, police were reported by homeowners of a house in Valley Village that Silento entered their house carrying a deadly weapon, looking for his girlfriend. The couple and their child were present during the incident but no one got hurt.
He was arrested for the second time, just a block away from the home and charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. The rapper Silento was out on bail when the second incident happened and is now being currently held at the Twin Tower Correctional Facility on a $105,000 bond.
He is slated to be arraigned on Friday morning at the Van Nuys Courthouse. If found convicted the rapper could receive a prison sentence up to six years.
The rapper’s major hit ‘Whip/Nae Nae” splurged a dancing spree all across the world. Silento wrote the song when he was just 17 years old. Now, this music video has been viewed over 1.5 billion times on Youtube.
Last year, Silencio was seen taking participation in DoSomething.org’s anti-vaping campaign.
