Ratched season 1: Do you have someone to show you mercy? Nurse Ratched says you deserve one. But will SHE be the one to do it? Not even God knows the answer to that.
Nurse Ratched, a fictional character and the main antagonist of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, is a heartless sadistic tyrant in the name of a nurse who works as the administrative head in a psychiatric treatment center. Her first name is Mildred. She advanced to become the synonymous stereotype of the nurse as a ‘battleax’ in the medical world (defined as a woman who is dominating and forceful). This 1975 film is FINALLY getting a prequel called Ratched, in which we will see a younger version of the Big Nurse and her journey to this excessively horrifying power she exercises over her patients and their lives. In other words, Ratched is an upcoming American psychological, horror-thriller web TV series, based on the above-mentioned Ken Kesey’s 1962 novel. It is expected to debut on Netflix on September 18, 2020. Sarah Paulson is playing the role of the terrifying nurse- you may remember her from Sandra Bullock’s Bird Box.”You know the legend, but do you know how it all began?” Paulson tweeted alongside the trailer for the 18-episode series.
In the official trailer for the Ratched show, she can be heard saying, “You have been subjected to enough pain. You deserve someone to show you mercy. How different I would be if someone had,” as she goes on to subject the patient to a not-so-merciful torturous procedure. What happened to her during the war? We are hoping that the answers will be provided by the show, as the story unfolds after each episode. Her fashionable exterior, well-groomed personality, neatly-clipped hair, and a nurse’s cap make her look harmless and attractive on the outside, but, according to a person of authority, he “never should have let her into this hospital.” We all agree with you, Mr. Owner.
Ryan Murphy, the screenwriter, promises “an imagining of how this monster was created.”
Are you ready for the spine-chilling experience at the hands of this nurse? We know we are. But no matter what you do, remember one thing: NEVER steal a peach from Nurse Mildred Ratched. Never.
