Reno 911: The Upstart Streaming Service and Comedy Central Production announced that Reno 911 is returning to Quibi for more season. Reno 911 is earning two Emmy nominations for the seventh season, debuted on Quibi.
The comedy show had been out of TV for more than a decade. The creators and co-creators Robert Ben, Thomas Lennon, and Kerri-Kenny will continue to write the story. The creator said, “We are thrilled about the pick-up, but we’re even more thrilled about getting to leave our living rooms for the first time in 5 months.”
Reno 911 Plot for another season
911 follows the fictional series of the Reno Sheriff’s Department. The sheriff ran the seasons from 2003 to 2009 before the rebirth on Quibi. The show recently collet the Emmy Nomination for excellent Short Form Comedy or Drama Series. The Outstanding Actress in Short-form Comedy for Kenny-Silver.
The company said that Reno 911 is one of the best scripted series on the app. The app focuses on the hit shows that ran for 10 minutes or less. The app is run by Jeffery Katzenberg and Met Whitemen. The show will be produced by Wendi McLendon including the ex-producers Peter Principato (First Artist), Micheal Shamberg, Stacey Sher, and Danny DeVito.
The production has ordered the next season for the Emmy Nomination Emmy Comedy. The original star cast of the show ran six seasons are Robert Ben, Thoman Lenon, Niecy Nash, Wendi McLendon, Cedric Yarbrough, Carlos Alazraqui, Ian Roberts, Joe Lo, Kerri Kenney, and Mary Birdsong.
In the last few years, there have been more opportunities for Reno 911 for its comeback. While the majority of the star cast delayed the show by saying it is too early. Robert Ben said, “Everyone Career had really sort of taken off without the show and we felt this is too soon like a lateral move.”
Actor Cedric Yarbrough said about the show that it feels such a pleasure to return back with a first big break. Let’s do it, the show is an adult cartoon, it is like a Bug’s Bunny.
