On 19th July, Netflix finally released a trailer for Season 3 of Sex Education, acquainting us with a few new characters and some knowns in an advertisement POV video shot of the Moordale school. The teaser gives us a peek into the series, making us anticipate what is about to unfold before our eyes but only a little to not ruin the fun.
Netflix has confirmed that Season 3 of Sex Education will have a total of 8 episodes which will all be released at the same time on 17th September 2021.
While season 3 was already confirmed back in February 2020, just a month after the release of the second season, the shooting had to be held off due to covid restrictions. But fortunately, the filming was able to take place from September of 2020.
Jemima Kirke as Hope
Jemima Kirke will be playing the role of a Moordale graduate who has returned as the headmistress of the school to lead it to its former glory.
Jason Issacs as Peter Groff
Jason Issacs will be playing Peter Groff who is the more successful but oh not so modest elder brother of Mr. Groff.
Dua Saleh as Cal
Dua Saleh will be playing the role of Cal who is a non-binary student at Moordale, who clashes with Hope and her “vision” for the school.
Indra Ove as Anna
Indra Ove will be playing the role of Anna who is Elsie’s foster mother.
What to expect
While the teaser didn’t give out much information, Netflix did issue a “release statement” that gives us the basic idea. The announcement is as follows:
“It’s a new year, Otis is having casual sex, Eric and Adam are official, and Jean has a baby on the way. Meanwhile, new headteacher Hope tries to return Moordale to a pillar of excellence, Aimee discovers feminism, Jackson gets a crush and a lost voicemail still looms. Prepare for commitment animals, alien phenomena, vulva cupcakes, and much more of Madam Groff.”
