When Skater XL was launched on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on 28th July. It will consist of three maps that were created by the modding community of the game. It was created during the Early Access period of the game on Steam. The maps are going to be a part of the game for all the players.
The three maps that will be added are Streets by Jean-Olive, Grant Skate Park by Theo and Hudland Training Facility by Pactole. A trailer and a set of screenshots of these maps have been launched. This showcases the work of the community of the game. Theo joined the team of developers after building Grant Skate Park. The Park will be making its debut in the 1.0 release of the game.
Skater XL – Three Community Created Maps Available On All Platforms
In a press release, Dain Hedgpeth the co-founder of Easy Days Studio the developer of the game praised the modding community of the game. The community consists of 84,000 people who have crafted several amazing maps in the past. They have created fake skate brands and gears in the game. He said that their passion has inspired them a lot. He wants to give them a tribute by including some of their works during the launch.
Grant Skate Park is the recreation of the Chicago Park skatepark. However, some changes have been made in order to make the game a bit easier. Numerous street spots have been brought together in the Streets. Whereas the Hudland Training Facility is totally an original creation.
The Skater XL faces a lot of competition such as Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 which will be arriving this year in September 4. However, the XL has pulled comparisons into the Skate company. The Skate game was just announced which means that it is quite far from release.
