Over five years since the original Kickstarter and Star Citizen have been drawing cash together. As of now, the simulator of space-trading has raised over $300 million from its strong player base of more than two and a half million.
Most of the money is advancing from the in-game purchases where the space citizens are purchasing expensive spacecraft in order to make the journey and trading smoother. The lists of the ships that are available get updated on a regular basis. If you are finding something in the mid-range, not the cheapest or not more expensive will lie in the range of $200 – $350.
A recent collection of ships, the Drake Complete Pack 2950 which consists of 14 new vessels came down for sale for $4,600 which brought the Cloud Imperium Games above the line of $300 million, only some month after it crossed the line of $250 million. It seems as if the players were very keen to get the freshest Drake squadron.
However, Cloud Imperium is going to utilize the money in a good use in getting A-list cast altogether for squadron 42, the campaign set of single-player in the universe of Star Citizen. The Squadron 42 will be going into beta the third quarter of the current year.
The game Star Citizen is playable on Microsoft Windows and Linux.
