The duo recently signed a big deal with streaming service Netflix. On September 7, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle( The Duke&Duchess) of Sussex confirmed that they have remunerated £ 2.4 million to taxpayers for reconstructing Fragmore Cottage as a segment of a consensual deal after they split up as members of the royal family of Prince Charles.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on March 31, 2020, officially left the roles as senior royals and moved first to Canada, later to Los Angeles, while the US was in lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The couple decided to step away from the royal family as a part of a clause with Queen Elizabeth, they both agreed to become financially independent and not dependent on any internal funds.
Queen Elizabeth, confirmed their separation and said, Meghan and Harry, are very clear about their decision of not taking any public capital in their new lives. Therefore, we have agreed to have a period of transition and the duke and duchess will spend time in Uk and Canada.
According to ABC News, the couple will no longer be gaining capital support from Prince Charles Wales, be it a public or private estate. Earlier, the Duchy of Cornwall used to fund all the private and public expenses of the royal family, including the charity.
As per sources, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be no longer welcoming any contribution from the Sovereign Grant.
In May 2020, there were speculations made that, the couple had also agreed to give back £ 18,000 per month to Sovereign Grant.
