‘The Glorias’ Trailer: Julianne Moore and Alicia Vikander starring in this epic biopic

The Glorias: The official teaser for The Glorias is now out. It stars Julianne Moore and Alicia Vikander as feminist icon Gloria Steinem. They are the Oscar winners.

Roadside Attractions unveiled the mini trailer for director Julie Taymor’s biopic on Thursday. Steinem’s work as a journalist, activist, and leader of the feminist movement is featured. Other human rights advocates that are featured in the teaser are  Dorothy Pitman Hughes as Janelle Monáe,  Dolores Huerta (Monica Sanchez), Wilma Mankiller (Kimberly Guerrero), Flo Kennedy (Lorraine Toussaint), and Bella Abzug (Bette Midler).

The film My Life on the Road is based on Steinem’s 2015 autobiography.  The film portrays Steinem and her squad surmounts constant misogyny and various obstacles on their journey in order to dismantle heteronormative, patriarchal systems.

Sanchez’s Huerta calls an energetic crowd of protesters and asks if they could change the world. To this Monáe’s Hughes responds in affirmation by saying that they can do it.

Mrs. America is a series that stars Rose Byrne as Steinem, Margo Martindale as Abzug, Uzo Aduba as Shirley Chisholm, Tracey Ullman as Betty Friedan, Elizabeth Banks as Jill Ruckelshaus, and Cate Blanchett as anti-feminist activist Phyllis Schlafly. Hulu and FX released the critically acclaimed limited series and the biopic comes less than a year after that.

The show scored 10 Emmy nominations. Furthermore, it drew scorn from the real Steinem and Feminist Majority Foundation President Eleanor Smeal. 

The debut of “The Glorias”:

Adapted for the screen by Taymor and Sarah Ruhl, “The Glorias” is set to debut on 30 September.  It is adapted for the screen by Taylor and Sarah Ruhl and will stream on Amazon Prime Video. The movie premiered earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival. At The end of the teaser, Moore’s Steinem says  that the truth will set you on fire, But first, it will piss you off
