Reportedly, the crew and contestants had to go in quarantine for 14 days as the shooting of the series began at the end of July.

Love Productions Spokesperson stated that, they’re working hard to present Great British Bake Off to the audience this year and their top priority is the safety of each and everyone working in the production of the series.

The filming of the show was expected to start in May but it got postponed due to the ongoing global pandemic.

Kieran Smith- Creative director of Love Production added that, they had to halt the productions as some of the members began to show symptoms of COVID-19. However, luckily they were tested negative and the team resumed shooting the next day.

The show’s production staff, consisted of 120 members and they all lived in self contained biosphere for almost 6 weeks, so that the filming could be done safely with social-distancing norms.

As Sandi Toksvig announced, she is quitting the show, hence The Great British Bake Off 2020 will be a little different from earlier years.

Comedian Matt Lucas will be joining Noel Fielding as the host for The Great British Bake Off 2020.

Matt Lucas stated that, He is very thrilled to join the most delicious show on TV and can’t wait to bake with Noel, Prue and Paul. Speaking about the filming he added : It was as amazing as a holiday camp.

Prue Lieth and Paul Hollywood are returning as judges on The Great British Bake Off 2020. They fit best into the roles with their sarcastic criticism and precise judgement.

David Atherton was the winner of The Great British Bake Off 2019.
