The Letter For The King Season 2: Release Date, Cast, Plot and Everything Else

The Letter For The King

The Letter For The King Season 2: The Letter for the King is a coming-of-age television show on Netflix developed by Will Davies and FilmWave. It is based on the popular 1962 Dutch novel De brief voor de Koning by Tonke Dragt. The novel has been one of the most popular Dutch stories throughout history-a classic-and has been reprinted several times.

Tiuri, a young knight goes on a life-threatening adventure to deliver a secret letter to the King living in the ‘Great Mountains’. Season one, though just six episodes long, dropped back in March this year and was a hit among many teen viewers.

Often called the Games of Thrones for the younger generation, The Letter for the King was a huge success- not that the younger generation wasn’t the first one to watch the Game of Thrones, but still. Most fans are sitting on the edge of their seats, their minds eager for a second season.

Will There Be A Season Two?

Owing to the pandemic, lockdown laws, and quarantine, about half of the population around the world is somehow hooked to the screens of their little gadgets watching something on Netflix. The odds are definitely in favor of The Letter for the King when it comes to views, so it is highly likely that a second season may be in the works.

What Happened at the End of Season One?

At the end of the season, Tiuri was successful in his mission to deliver the letter to the King, revealing the wickedness of Prince Viridian. Prince Viridian turned into a savage shadow creature wreaking havoc everywhere but was still defeated by Lavinia.

At the ceremony to celebrate their knighthood, Tiuri noticed the flock of Starlings flying in the sky. As the flock flew, it took the shape of Prince Viridian’s face, thus foreshadowing about him having survived the battle.

If the Prince is to return it will be up to Lavinia, who turned out to be the prophesied hero instead of Tiuri, to end his reign of terror. So, there is definitely room for some kind of story in the second installment.

Amir Wilson as Tiuri, Ruby Ashbourne Serkis as Lavinia, Thaddea Graham as Iona, Islam, Bouakkaz as Arman, Jonah Lees as Jussipo, Gijs Blom as Prince Viridian, and Emilie Cocquerel as Queen Eleanor.

Taking into account the production delays due to the pandemic, a late 2021 release date can be expected for The Letter For The King Season 2.
