Plot Details

The Pale Door: When the trailer begins, the screen shows some good old’ cowboys with their hats and guns violently robbing a train. But, before they know it, an unexpected visitor in place of some freight leads them to a brothel. Somewhere between an awaited reward for returning the cargo back to its rightful place and having the time of their lives at the disorderly house, things start getting bloody. Literally. The Outlaws soon realize that the women who have provided them with shelter in this strange town are, in fact, witches and there are wolves everywhere, waiting for them to step out. The conflicts get increasingly violent as the two faces each other face on. Will the Outlaws be able to defeat these supernatural creatures and escape the haunted town once and for all? Or will the sorceresses stay undefeated and have yet another group of victims at their mercy?

When asked about his inspiration for the movie and the unique blend of genres, Koontz said, “When the idea came to me of a Western-Horror genre mashup that pitted gruff, flawed protagonists in a gang of cowboys against alluring and mysterious witches, it immediately clicked. These are two well known filmic entities with natural conflict and deep anti-hero sensibilities. A gang of mostly men who answer to no one, that turns to violence at the drop of their signature hats, and women who have been persecuted for their beliefs, tortured and murdered by religious zealots claiming to be men of god. And even though this is the 1890s, it’s a story with modern-day relevance, with so many timely examples of stubborn men, underestimating the power and fortitude of women, and more specifically, the deeply important theme of hate begets hate.”

Cast

Lead actors include Devin Druid from 13 Reasons Why, Zachary Knighton from Happy Endings, Bill Sage from We Are What We Are, Pat Healy from the black comedy Cheap Thrills, Natasha Bassett from Britney Ever After (a biopic of Britney Spears). Other people in the cast are- Noah Segan, Stan Shaw, and Melora Walters.

Release

The movie will have a limited theatrical release on August 21, along with dropping on Digital and Video-On-Demand (VOD) platforms.
